Lutheran Social Services of Michigan helps refugees that are forced out of their country due to war or political turmoil.  Lutheran Social Services of Michigan is a private refugee resettlement agency that provides:

• sponsorship
• immigration assistance
• legal services
• assistance with resettlement and acculturation

In addition, Lutheran Social Services of Michigan helps with job development and placement, vocational English language training and citizenship services.

The Arab American Chaldean Council's immigration specialists provide:

• preparation of documents for the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for applications for citizenship
• asylum
• non-immigrant visas
• family unification petitions. 

The Arab American Chaldean Council also helps clients by representing them before the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services and Immigration Court.

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit offers a program called New American Services for Jewish refugees.

The Children's Resource Network provides:

• Bilingual assistance
• migrant children programs
• parenting seminars
• specialized support to foster care children and their foster parents

The English Language Institute provides the only intensive English language program in the entire metro-Detroit area at this time. The English Language Institute specializes in:

• teaching English communication
• cultural orientation
• academic preparation skills

The English Language Institute is a must for all non-native speakers of English from around the world.

The Chaldean American Ladies of Charity helps Chaldean women get work together and also with others to provide help and hope to those in need. Chaldean American Ladies of Charity also provides several outreach and referral services and assists refugee families in meeting daily needs through donations.
